Stay Sweet As You Are Analysis

Stay Sweet As You Are by Doug Lantry fits the criteria for an analysis paper because of many reasons. First of all, because he establishes his topic -magazine advertisements pushing women to buy products to feel beautiful- from the start that can connect and engage others. He made his topic engaging to women -because they are the main topic of the narrative- and he expresses his personal frustration with advertisements conveying the message that “catching” a man is the ultimate goal in a woman’s life.  Lantry articulated his purpose and stance in the very first paragraph, and is consistently going deeper into his reasoning’s. He also appeals to his audience. He does this by giving real examples of magazine advertisements and what they are trying to portray, but in such a descriptive and analytical way. Lantry used research to back up his reasons and arguments.
